BOARD MEETING CANCELLED
The Seekonk Youth Soccer Board meeting has been cancelled for January 4th. The Board will reconvene on Monday, February 1st @ 7:00 pm at Aitken School Staff Room.
BLACK GOOSE REGISTRATION
Registration for the spring season, our Black Goose competitive travel season, is closed as of Dec 11th.
We are required to declare teams for the South Coast Soccer League the following week. We will declare teams based on the participants registered on Dec 11th. If you are interested in a team for your child, we strongly encourage you to register and pay by December 11th. If we do not have enough players at any given age level by Dec 11th, we will not be able to declare a team. We apologize for the timing of registration with the holidays coming. Unfortunately, we do not set the team declaration dates. All players who register, and who we are able to declare a team for, will play. However, if at any age level there are too many players, requiring us to split the players into two teams, we will have a try out. The tryouts will most likely be scheduled in January.
Practices for the Black Goose season will run in the gyms over the winter. Shortly after registration closes, your coach will notify you of your practice time. Players may not practice unless they have completed registration with Seekonk Youth Soccer.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING INDOOR SOCCER TEAMS
Indoor soccer teams are created by coaches and players’ families as means for kids to stay conditioned. However, indoor soccer programs are not part of Seekonk Youth Soccer program. BG players can play indoor soccer if they wish, but it is not required by Seekonk Youth Soccer, nor is it run by Seekonk Youth Soccer and is completely optional. Indoor soccer teams usually have a mixture of kids who play BG and those that do not play BG. Seekonk Youth Soccer does not determine what players, teams or the levels for indoor soccer teams.
If anyone is struggling with whether to register their child due to financial need, we want to help. Please register and do no pay. Then email our Registrar, Joyce Leven, with your request - firstname.lastname@example.org . The request will be handled confidentially.

Welcome to Seekonk Youth Soccer!
Seeking Youth Soccer (SYS) is a non-profit community based youth soccer organization. Our mission is to help develop our community’s youth through an enjoyable experience centered around the game of soccer. We belive that soccer can be used to assist in character development through good sportsmanship and teamwork and promoting healthy lifestyles through physical fitness and organized activities.
As a 100% volunteer based organization, we are truly a community driven organization. Working with children ages 5 and up, we have a number of opportunities for recreational enjoyment and competitive play at most levels.

We currently have a board position open. Some positions only require a few hours of your time each month and others are more involved. If you are thinking you can help out, please stop in to one of our monthly meetings and we can discuss these opportunities in more detail.

2) Referee Director
Responsible for developing skills of new referees, assist with training, and complete weekly schedules in-season for recreational and local travel games.
Reminder: Seekonk Youth Soccer is 100% volunteer driven. Without volunteers we cannot possibly support all of the great programs we offer all year long.
All are welcome to attend Seekonk Youth Soccer board meetings. All meetings are be held on the first Monday of every month at the Aitken Elementary School at 7 pm. If the Monday our meeting is scheduled is a holiday, it will be held the following Monday.

Complaints or Concerns?
All complaints or concerns regarding the soccer program should be directed to the President of the league via email firstname.lastname@example.org or other writing. The complaint/concern will be taken under advisement by the Board of Directors and be added to the agenda at the next Board Meeting. The author of the Complaint/Concern will be advised of the next meeting date and asked to appear if it is deemed necessary for additional comment. The issue will be reviewed and comments discussed at the Board meeting. Following the regular session, the Executive Board will vote to take any action on the Complaint. The President will communicate in writing any decisions to the author of the complaint following the meeting.
