Fall Competitive Program

Fall Competitve soccer will be fielded AFTER the recreational soccer teams have been formed and if there is a person to manage the program.  Without the volunteers to manage the program we will not be able to offer this program.
.
SYS has focused on providing a comprehensive soccer experience for the youth of Seekonk. The program has been structured to provide a recreational program during the fall (Aug-Nov) and a competitive program (Black Goose) in the Spring (April-June). This format is consistent with the mission statement of the South Coast Soccer League of which SYS is a member.
.
SYS Board agreed to provide the Black Goose coaches the option of having their teams compete in a fall competitive program. The understanding was that participation in fall competitive soccer would not be at the expense of the fall recreational program; therefore, the coaches and players had to commit to continue playing recreational soccer.
.
In order to assure the integrity of the recreational program, the following guidelines have been established.
* Fall competitive teams will be formed by the Black Goose coach of that age group.
* Any player interested in playing fall competitive soccer is required to register (and commit to participate) in the Fall recreational soccer program before they are eligible to register for fall competitive soccer.  Sufficient coach and player interest must exist.
* Fall competitive teams will be primarily composed of Black Goose players with any remaining slots opened to newly registered participants (tryouts may be held if the number of registrants is in excess of the number of players allowed for each team)
* Players who miss a recreational game will not be allowed to participate in that weekend's fall competitive game.

The SYS board has the right to modify the above rules as they see needed.

.
SYS will work to address any recreational and competitive game time conflicts so players have the opportunity to recover between games.
.
Cost to participate is in addition to the rec fees.  Cost TBD by number of participants.
